Francis Esmonde-White

Francis has worked in a variety of fields, including gas phase process petrochemical spectroscopy, metrology, in vivo biomedical Raman spectroscopy, Raman microscopy, Raman tomography, chemometrics, as well as uv-visible and near-infrared spectroscopies. For more details, see the list of Francis' publications and presentations.

In addition to developing spectroscopic techniques, Francis has developed novel scientific software and hardware. To advance spectroscopic methods, he has developed on several new technologies to enable optimization and testing of spectroscopy in people.

In addition to his research, he organized and chaired the Biomedical Raman spectroscopy sessions at the 2009 and 2010 FACSS conferences, as well as the Open Source in Analytical Chemistry session at SciX 2018. Francis is currently the editor of the Coblentz Society web site.
